FACILITY DESIGN -

Our barn is small but cozy with solid oak lined walls and insulation throughout. One of its better features is an 11' wide aisleway for the utmost in safety and accessibility.

For riding, we enjoy a lighted, outdoor arena with all weather footing and wooded trails.

2006 saw the completion of a large new wash bay and a remodeled tack room. We love this more functional and updated room - as do kitties! Finally, after too many fumbled attempts trying to braid dark manes in dark stalls in the wee hours at shows, lighting here is a priority! We have 8 windows for ample natural light during the day and individual stall lights and aisleway lights. Finally, industrial florescent lights mounted at an angle, cross ties, and rubber matting  were installed to complete our  provider work station.

Our horses graze on well managed pastures in the summer and are sheltered from icy winter winds with the mighty 70+ year old pines that surround much of our property.  Priefert hay feeders were selected for their safe and sturdy design.  Nelson automatic heated waterers are another tremendous feature -- how did we ever live without them?

We were extremely fortunate to find horse property available in the Oak Openings region when we began looking in early 1999. Not only is the region (and our property) rife with wild life, it also hosts up to 180 rare species found no where else in the world! We ensure that they remain as undisturbed as possible by staying on the riding and walking trails in our woods year round.  Please see FAVORITES page for links to more info. on this amazing natural wonder.
